Lilly and Lyla

I finally got my new baby today! She has done great so far. Other than a dark belly she has shown no signs of relocation stress. At 6 months and 104 gm, she ate a meal that would have rivaled my boyfriends 10 month old, 314 gm dragon. She had hornworms, butterworms, and crickets. We actually had to cut her off on cricket because I stupidly bought some that were way to big (we picked out the littlest ones). I have already taken several pictures so I just have to share. I will be updating this post periodically with more pictures and stories. (I have to add my funny cricket story here. Yesterday I went to feeder's supply to get crickets because I won't be able to get bulk until monday. A girl in her 20s or so was helping me. She had jeans on with torn knees. As she was almost done with my crickets she says "Oh my gosh". "What?" I asked. "A cricket just crawled into my pants." She hurried off to go take care of it and another worker came to finish my cricket order. I found it hilarious).
On to pictures:

I took Lilly to school today. I think she might have eggs as she was digging on the computer desks (she dug under our kitchen table the other day). Anyway, Lilly kept me very busy. We had to have several talks about walking across people's keyboards when they are trying to type, climbing onto other people's plates, getting under mommy's markers while she is coloring (yes, she does have a green streak on her paw), attacking other people's notes while they are trying to study, scaring toddlers, etc. Whew, what a busy day. Of course, now that we're home, she hasn't once left my shoulder.

She just wanted to let everyone know that she's not just a really big broach or toy :laughing6:

I had her in her carrier with the door open before Phil class started. She crawled out and looked at the professor and he said, "That is an animal carrier! I thought it was a purse and didn't want to insult you by asking!"

Funny story...
Lilly and I went to get superworms today and the store was busy so we looked around while we were waiting. I took Lilly and showed her some BEAUTIFUL red-hypo babies. Well one baby (who was about the size of my pinky- small, but all of the babies were FEISTY!) ran up to the glass, puffed, then head bobbed Lilly. Funniest thing!

Side note, the guy that worked there said "WOW, WHAT A BIG MALE BEARDIE!" when I walked in with her. I told him she was a female and he couldn't believe it! Asked if I was sure and I said we had seen all her female organs on the xray. He said she is the biggest female he's ever seen.

So, what did Lilly think of the feisty babies? That's funny how they headbobbed at her.

Poor Lilly, he thought she was a male. The biggest beardie he's ever seen? How did she react to the store employee?

I think it's funny how most pet store employees think they are experts

As if you can tell the sex of a beardies just by looking at them

This guy has beardie and I think just assumed a female couldn't be that big. He was nice though and we talked beardies for a while. Lilly seemed fine with him, he loved on her a bit.

Lilly was VERY interested in the babies and got upset when we walked away from them.

If he never thought females could get that big, then it's probably a safe bet that he's never seen Barb's Miss Piggy

My Vet actually said the same thing about Fiona and Belle! Lilly is bigger than both of them so it just goes to show you what good care does!!!

Lol, that or she's a fatty. What's funny is her mom was like 300 something grams and her dad was like 400 something so she is almost both of them combined (700+). She's a sweet girl though. She has a total box fetish, last night I had my scrapbooking stuff out and sure enough Lilly curls up in the box lol. She's so funny.

Lilly's such a cutie, curled up in the box. They all have such funny quirks. As for her weight, she sure gets enough exercise running around, it must be the dog food!

Lol I have no idea why she's such a big girl, but there's no doubt she is! She has a total box fetish, at night she sleeps in a shoe box in her tank (even though she has an expensive log hide and a cave).

Sara, Lilly is a big girl that's what happens sometimes with spoiled beardies.

Funny is that Miss Piggy loves her cardboard box hide too. I feel bad sometimes because it's so cheap and simple looking. I often think about giving her a nicer looking hide, but I don't think she'd be happy without her box. (btw...I think Miss Piggy was up to 829g last year...just weighed her and she's at 789g looks like she's back on the rise again.

Hope you had a nice Mother's Day with your mom. :)
