I use timers, i haven't had great success with the reptile branded ones. The ones that use push down tabs aren't very accurate. The digital ones loose time, as time goes on. I have started using the ones from lowes. They are around 20 to 25 dollars and so far have worked flawlessly for me. The big down fall is they only have 1 to 2 sockets and the one with 1 socket doesn't except a cord that has 3 blades. That is easily solved by using an adapter, the adapter cost less than a dollar and you get it at lowes also. The best way to use with multiple lights is to plug a power strip into the timer and then every light comes on at once. If you use night time heat you'll need a second timer for that. I'll link the timers and the adapter, if you decide to go that route you can just show the links to an employee and they can show you where to find them 🙂. This is the one that don't need the adapter. https://www.lowes.com/search?searchTerm=digital+timers This one will need an adapter to work with a power strip.
