ive kinda posted on this before, but i cant seem to find a solution, any help would be great appreciated! so i have bowser in a 40 gal. breeder. we originally had a compact uvb and heat bulb with a red night bulb. he was doing great, shedding and eating like a beast. Well, that bulb blew out and after seeing everyone on here recommend the repti-sun, instead of just replacing the old bulb, i bought that one. i set it up and his color was drastically brighter! but now i cant get his temps up. hes a juvi so i know supposed to be 105-110 in basking. right now, i have a blue light directlly above his basking area that was recommended by the "reptile expert" by me. (dont know if i trust him, tho. he houses beardies together and on sand). but i also have the repti-sun basking light (100 watts) shining on the basking spot from across the cage. (wish i could post a pic, but dont have a working camera). temps are only reaching 100 MAX. i tried to put the repti-sun basking spot directly above his basking area, but temps were even lower. help!!!! PLEASE!!!
Really would be helpful to have details on the setup. But you seem rather desperate for any suggestion. So, here goes a 100% blind shot. If I'm envisioning this right, you have your warmer bulb farther away and the blue bulb right on top of the basking spot. Maybe? Anyway, you might try swapping those two bulbs. Get the heat bulb closer and the blue from across the tank?
well after reading how in accurate some thermometers can be, i decided to put a thermometer directly onto his basking spot, and lo and behold, its the right temp! but thanks everyone!
