Hi! Yup, you're right about the D3. Well, like I mentioned before, I've never used MVBs so I don't know as much about them. But the two main reasons I recommended the RertiSuns are that the MVBs have been having some issues... (Check out these threads: http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=124451 http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=105630http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=127476http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=121986 ) ... And because, IMO, they are a little more complicated than the ReptiSuns. For example, MVBs must be used in cages that are at least 40 gallons or larger, the need to be at least 18" away from the beardie, and some of them can't be mounted at an angle. ReptiSuns can be used in any size cage, and the only stipulation with them is that they should be between 6-10" away from the basking spot, and that you should also have a bright white light to put along side it. So many newbies would probably find the ReptiSun a little more simple to set up, and it would apply to more caging situations. If the Powersun is indeed safe though, like Cheryl said, then go ahead and use it. I just wanted to explain why I used the ReptiSun as a lighting example in this thread.
