for a viv, I am using a coil ( Petsmart told me they are so much better than the Tube and to keep it away from the basking light the other side of the tank) she was not eating very good I did take her to the vet and they told me I have the wrong lighting! reading on here I have found that the reptisun 10 is a good light I ordered a 48" one to cover the whole viv What would be the best heat lamp to go with the Reptisun? I want to make sure my beardie has the best lighting and heat that I can afford! my other ? is should I keep the coil light on until the Reptisun comes on Tuesday? and can a juvi eat Phoenix Worms? thanks a lot sorry for all the questions but I just want to make sure I have this set up right! no more petsmart for me for anything!!!!!

It would actually be better to turn that coil light off until you get the tube. It can seriously damage their eyes. As far as a heat lamp goes, you can actually just use a regular household bulb, just make sure you keep an eye on the temps to make sure the wattage is sufficient. And yes! Pheonix worms are great for juvies, they have lots of protein and calcium so they really help your beardie grow :D

As mentioned above, it would be better just to leave the coil light off, it won't hurt your dragon to go without UVB for a couple of days. Pheonix worms can be used with pretty much any dragon. For heat, you can use a regular lightbulb or a halogen flood light - no need to pay more for a petstore heat bulb when these do the exact same thing. All you need is a bulb that puts out lots of bright clear (not coloured) light and enough heat to get your temperatures into the proper ranges (basking spot 100-110*F, cool side 80ish*F).

Would this be the reason why she is not growing like other dragons out there? she eats but not a lot maybe an average of 15 crickets a day and she has had wax worms 3-4 when they are offered to her

It could be a big part of it. If you want to answer the questions below, we can look over the rest of your set up and make sure there aren't any other issues that might be bothering her.

Where did you get him from?
How long have you had him?

What size tank is he in?
What substrate are you using?
What do you use to heat the tank?
What are the temperatures (basking spot and cool side) in the tank?
What do you use to measure the temperatures?
What UVB light are you using?
Is it a tube or a coil/compact?
How old is it?
How close can your dragon get to it?

What do you feed your dragon?

Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
