VICTORIA Victoria recorded a daily local covid (Delta) case count of 1923 new local cases overnight ( 1380 mystery cases = 71.8% ) as the state prepares for another easing of restrictions tomorrow. Victoria recorded the highest overnight Delta death toll of the Delta Wave and for any state in Australia so far in 2021 , 25 Delta deaths . There are now 22,189 active cases of the virus in Victoria, and 272 people have died during the current Delta outbreak. Total LOCAL CASES in Victoria's Delta Wave = 65198. ACT recorded recorded 8 new cases , ZERO mystery cases . Their total in this outbreak is 1607. ACT recorded 0 delta deaths. SE QLD recorded recorded 0 new cases , 0 mystery cases . Their total in this outbreak is 180. QLD recorded 0 delta deaths. Tas, WA , SA , NT , all had OO days recorded, only cases recorded in these states were already in quarantine and all are repats from o/s. SA – NSW BORDER Broken Hill residents are rejoicing that travel into South Australia has returned with reinstatement of SA-NSW Border Bubble. NEW ZEALAND NZ recorded 90 local delta cases AGAIN overnight includes zero mystery cases . Total of local Delta transmissions is now 2926 . 0 delta deaths today in NZ . Of the 90 community cases identified by health officials on Thursday, these include 2 in Christchurch, ending a 358-day run without the virus for the South Island's biggest city. The New Zealand government has opted against sending the city into lockdown, with Mr Hipkins saying there were 'no major exposure events'. 'Close contacts have been identified and are self-isolating ... we'll continue to closely monitor the situation,' he said. As of Thursday, 72 % of New Zealanders are fully vaccinated and 87 % have received their first jab. NZ will also allow travellers from low-risk countries - Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu and Tokelau - to bypass hotel quarantine altogether from November 8. Australia is not on the quarantine-free list, despite those from low-risk states able to visit NZ freely for several months earlier this year under the trans-Tasman bubble. The Trans-Tasman Bubble remains closed to Australia, BECAUSE residents from the high-risk states of NSW and Victoria are now able to travel around Australia’s eastern states while WA & NT remain closed to them for unnecessary travel. 'The challenge for NZ with Australian is Australian states and territories are going through the process of opening up their internal borders,' he said. Which makes another reopening of the trans-Tasman bubble an unacceptable risk
