Sydney LHAs are at 112 days in lockdown ( and restrictions which still apply for UNVAXXED and in HOSPOTS , and statewide ). . Across NSW, 91.4 % of people aged 16 and over have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 77.8 % are fully vaccinated to 11.59pm on Wednesday 13 October 2021. In the 12-15 year old age group, 72.1 % have had their first dose, and 26 % are fully vaccinated. The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 11,396,829 with 3,857,517 doses administered by NSW Health to 8pm last night and 7,539,312 administered by the GP network, pharmacies and other providers to 11.59pm on Wednesday 13 October 2021. Of the 399 locally acquired cases reported to 8pm last night, 92 are from South Western Sydney Local Health District (LHD), 79 are from Hunter New England LHD, 63 are from Western Sydney LHD, 31 are from Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD, 31 are from Sydney LHD, 28 are from South Eastern Sydney LHD, 20 are from Nepean Blue Mountains LHD, 15 are from Central Coast LHD, 14 are from Western NSW LHD, 8 are from Murrumbidgee LHD, 6 are in a correctional setting, 4 are from Northern Sydney LHD, 3 are from Far West LHD, 2 are from Northern NSW LHD, 2 are from Southern NSW LHD and 1 is yet to be assigned to an LHD. NSW Health's ongoing sewage surveillance program has detected fragments of the virus that causes COVID-19 in sewage samples collected from across NSW including Hallidays Point, Woolgoolga, West Wyalong and Gulargambone. BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS made by NSW Tourism Minister & by LetItRip Dom ( the new NSW Premier ). Regional travel on hold Sydneysiders will have to wait until November 1 until they can travel to regional NSW. There are now 77.8 % of people aged 16 and over fully vaccinated, with more freedoms set to return when the state reaches 80 % coverage. Regional travel was meant to be among the restrictions lifted at this milestone — expected to happen on Monday— but will now be delayed. Mayors & residents from the regions are worried about the unequal vaccination rates between their areas and Greater Sydney, and how Delta will easily spread if regional travel was open to all. In the Byron Bay local government area (LGA), only 47.1 % of those eligible to get a vaccine have had two doses. The Hunter region's Cessnock LGA and the Clarence Valley LGA in the state's north also have low vaccination rates, at 58.4 % and 56.6 % respectively. NSW border rule changes From today, some restrictions are being eased for people entering NSW. Travellers from the ACT and Queensland no longer need to complete a declaration form on entry or follow stay-at-home rules on arrival. NSW Health said Queensland's low rates of COVID-19 community transmission meant it was no longer considered an affected area, and the same applied to the ACT. However, people who arrive in NSW will be subject to the same travel restrictions as other people in NSW. Those in regional areas can travel to other regions but not Greater Sydney. People in Greater Sydney cannot leave the area without a reasonable excuse. An announcement was made by the Tourism Minister and LetItRip Dom that NSW will be opening up to all vaxxed international travellers ( w/ out mandatory quarantine ) which was promptly squashed by ScoMo who said only stranded Australians will be coming into Australia ( maybe by Xmas ) . However on the strength of the NSW govts announcements Quantas and Virgin have scheduled intl flights into Sydney for November and big hotel chains were talking up reopening to international visitors. Bet the cruise ship lines are rubbing the grubby mits together in expectation of filling cruise ships with NSW residents. Last thing NSW needs is thousands of international tourists FLOODING IN who have zero respect for mask mandates, social distancing and who you can guarantee will bring Lambda and Mu strains into the country and a lot of who will be travelling on fraudulent Vax Passports and with faked negative test certificates. Victoria has eased its border restrictions with New South Wales, with fully vaccinated travellers entering from red zones no longer needing to quarantine for 14 days. Under the new borders that come into effect at 11.59pm on October 19, vaccinated travellers who enter Victoria must return a negative COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours before entry. Once they enter, they must get tested and isolate until they return a negative test result. However, people who are not fully vaccinated - including those with medical exemptions - must still quarantine for 14 days upon arrival, as well as get tested before entering the state. Fully vaccinated people coming from orange zones - like the ACT - will no longer be required to get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result.
