Oh my god! Jason, how incredibly scary that must've been for both you and your mom. Just how long were you unconscious? Geez, the seizure itself was bad enough, but you decided to also fall flat on your face onto a hardwood floor AND hit a pot! In the future, you're only allowed to crawl on all fours when you feel a seizure coming on
Given your recent injuries, I would have to think that getting yourself well is more important than posting pics. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see new pics of LG, but those pics will still be there a week from now.
Speaking of, how had she been?
Wow Jason, how scary. It's a good thing that your mom was home! Sorry to hear about all your medical issues, hope you can get straightened out very soon and they find or adjust your meds for you to prevent the seizures. Hope all of it can heal very soon too.
Should you go without any medication? Have you spoken to the doctor who prescribed the new seizure meds to see if there's something less harsh for you?
That doctor isn't allowed to give me meds normally; They had to give me something leagaly though, while I went to LAC to straighten this out.
I went today for an MRI. Will get results back in 4 days.
Still really sore, but my tongue is feeling better. Able to talk and eat almost like norm.
When I went to et my mri today I also got my perscription changed to something that will help with seizures and pain and the same time... Sounds too good to be true, but we'll see.
I have to be honest; I feel changed after my last seizure, like living life from a slightly different perspective...
I have EEG schedualed next year and psych exams too. Wish me luck...
I'm so sorry to hear about the seizures Jason.
I use to have seizures when I was younger so I know what you are going through. It often takes lots of tests to discover the cause and how to treat it. Well it did way back when...you are lucky to have newer technology.
Hopefully the MRI will expose the culprit to these seizures and they can find a proper med for you.
Didn't realize it until recently, but apparently I pulled a muscle in my jaw or face when I was seizing.
I sneezed the other day and I almost dislocated my jaw; That has never happened in my life, and it was a very unpleasant experience... Then again this morning, I yawned and it happened again; My mouth opens to a certain point then everything feels like it's coming undone. I'm worried it's actually going to happen one of these yawns or sneezes...
LG is doing good; I fed her the last of her worms, but thanks to Veronica from Beautifuldragons, LG has two big bags of dragon chow(just add water)...
I have fed her that twice so far and she seems to like it, so that's good.
She is supposed to go to the vet soon(ideally next time she poops), or else I'm just going to take a specimen to the vet... Lately my health has been pretty poor, it's really keeping me from getting anything done.
I will keep everyone updated as things happen...
P.S. started that new seizure med(the one that's supposed to help with pain too). I take 3 a day; So far I don't notice anything.
I'm just seconding the idea for melatonin. Take it an hour before you want to fall asleep. It's the chemical that's naturally in our bodies anyway (controls our internal sleep clock) so you're just giving it a boost by taking it orally. No side effects.
Great job with LG. I hope you feel better =/
Howdy Jason - hope you are starting to feel better! I know it took time to get my husband on the right meds, with the right dosages (properly titrated) hang in there, you've got lots of us out here in cyberville that care a great deal about you & beautiful LG
Been taking it one day at a time, it's slow going...
Haven been able to make it on the bus to pet store lately, so LGs been eating the dragon chow. I sooak some in hot water, until it becomes soft and the water is just slightly warm. Then I add a little "critical care" to add to the nutrients of the broth.
I feed her the soft pellets and I also get a plastic syringe and suck up thew broth and she drinks that like a tea.
Whatever it tastes like, she seems to tolerate it. I plan on getting some bugs as soon as I'm feeling a little better. I just had a root canal and the whole right side of my face feels like I've had a railroad spike hammered into it... They prescribed me pain pills but I stopped taking them because the headaches they cause are almost worse than the tooth pain.
got someone to take me down to Petsmart to use that gift card on some crickets(sorry it took so long to get that gift card used).
She's at the end of a shed, I have some cellphone pics and will upload them as soon as I get my phone turned back on.
Feeding her crickets the last couple days, as well as that critical care. I warm the water slightly, so it's easy to digest(especially if she's loooking hungry after the sun goes down).
New meds I'm on leaving me tired and depressed for the most part. Some afternoons are ok, but for the most part thhings have been pretty dark.
Will continue to give updates as long as I have access to the internet... Pictures coming soon.......
