Hello,

This is the story of how we got our two baby dragons. It all started when my daughter brought home a beardie the whole family fell in love with him. You know some teens get when they get moody *dont touch him hes my beardie* gah it hurt because everyone loved him and played with him fed him we all pitched in. She even go so moody one day she moved his viv to her room so no one could see or play with him. (girls and pms  )So i made a thread http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=98235 * I want a BD for myself* i guess there was a few people who were in the same boat as me. Being a BD grandma is tuff! (She of course got over it and moved him back down stairs) I wanted to get one who might need a little more care or love thought first thing *rescue* I was checking cragelist daily not one bd post in the weeks i was looking. Then a breeder(DistDrag) posted on the thread letting me know he had 2 babys just hatched out that had small issues, one with a crooked tail and one with a leg that didnt work. They were the cutest things! I still had to get the ok from my hubby once he seen those pics he was hooked!! So he let me take them both! They were still way to young for me to get yet so we were happy to leave them with the breeder(DistDrag)till they were safe to travel. He kept us posted on how they were doing and posted updated pictures. The day came to where they were ready to be sent to us. Oh boy i was so excited i couldnt sleep and kept a eye out the window for them to get here! :blob8: :blob8: :blob8: :blob8: <-- that was me 10 fold lol I heard the UPS man drive up and i was out the door!
Still in the box!

This is the one with the left foot that dosnt work(My hubbys) He/she dosnt have a name yet.
Babys014.jpg

This is the one with the kink in the tail. I call her Roo short for Kangaroo.
Babys018.jpg

Heres a comparison between Chimera and Roo.
Babys019.jpg

They are both from the same clutch they are 1 month 1 week old and 6 1/2 inches long.

We will never let more than 1 of beardies to be out of their viv's at one time. Except for the 2 new babys just for a while so we can sit and watch tv with them to get them used to us. They both have their own vivs. I have to say ty to everyone! I have learned so much since i have joined! I dont think our babys would be as healthy as they are if it wasnt for all of you!

Ill be posting more pictures soon and more tails from their goofy antics lol

That pic of Lexi is priceless, I found Pyrex on his viv rim (18" from the floor) when he was the same size as Lexi, the're like "little jumping bean" beardies. :laughing6:I'm still scratching my head as to how he did it???????????????????????????????????

Roo started sheading today! Oh boy is she hating it. Shes not intrested in food all she wants it to be rubbed down with her baby toothbrush. Guess it helps with the itchys. She also jumped out of the playpen when i went into the kitchen to answer the phone i walk back to coo at her and she wasnt there! I found her 2 secs later on a chair! She climbed up my daughters sweat shirt sleeve is what im thinkin or shes super beardie!! Roo is turning out to be just like Chimera was at that age so loving and a snuggle bug she goes to sleep every night the last few nights in a placemat on my desk. Shes also launched herself off my desk onto my tower a few times. Thank goodness no injurys.

Lexi is eating more since shes up in my room instead of 6 crickets and a few worms all day shes at about 10 crickets and 4 worms. Shes going thru relocation stress tho. Her little tummy is all dark :( hopefully this will pass soon. Only time i bug her is her 3 feedings a day and her bath at night before bed time. Im waiting for this weekend to take her out of her viv to play with her in my room. She does seem to be doing better in a room without all the excitement of a busy house. :D

I can't wait for them to get a little bit bigger so i can take them outside in the sunshine its been rather warm here lately. So Chimera and Zero have been out and about soakin up the rays.

Boy its been a great couple days with close to 80f weather. Beardies have been loving their outside time. Its all cloudy again and going to rain :?

I went and picked up some Jump Start and gave Lexia just 3 drops later that evening she was eatting like a pig again! She is eating anything that moves in her viv. And we have found out she loves the laundry room. I had to bring her viv down stairs going up and down the stairs 15 times a day was killing me (hip issue). I dont know what it is about the laundry room but shes actually happy! Its a really bright room all of the walls are white.

Roo is glass dancing all the time now she just loves it out of her viv but i just cant trust her at all she zoommmms all over the place. Jumped off my desk a few times thank goodness she landed on my soft jacket. She isnt afraid of anything that worrys me lol

We picked up both girls a hammock Lexia loves it! Roo loves it too but she tries to use it as a launching pad for escape :blob8: :blob8: Ill have to post some pictures of them tomorrow im so tired from my trip to the zoo. LMAO my hubby stayed home so he got the job of babysitting the beardies. I got home and herd *omg hun im sooo glad you are homeeeee* i guess all he did was clean up beardie poo alll day :D He didnt give them baths so thats what he gets!!! :laughhard: :laughhard:

Since i couldnt make all the trips up and down the stairs to my bedroom only place down stairs that didnt have a beardie in it was the laundry room. So that was my only option. Her behavior changed so much the day i moved her. Her stress marks wasnt as dark as they normaly are and she looked happy. I was doing laundry all day too i thought it might bother her so i kept a eye on her.
Heres Lexia's room.

Babys171.jpg

I added some folage to it aswell.
Babys175.jpg

You can see her stress marks are light compared to jet black like she used to be.
Babys174.jpg

Her tail is getting ready to shead woot. Shes looking so much better withen a few days it brings tears to my eyes. She loves her kiwi, canalope n mustard greens.
Babys176.jpg

Hopefully we can finish their viv's this next weekend family stuff and my hubbys work has been keeping it on a really slow go. Our grandbaby should be here this next week too woot.

What a nice laundry room, almost looks like a work kitchen, I can see why Lexia likes it there.

This might sound silly, but, do you think Lexia's dark marks are from the picture of the Dinosaur in your back ground scenery? I only ask because I've read that so many beardie's try to jump on scenery rocks, or try to eat the scenery leaves, so do you think she see it as real?

Well, anyway, the viv looks great and she looks like she's living in the lap of luxuyry. What a sweetie!!!!!!!!

Oh gosh you know i never thought about that T rex in the background  She HATES any other beardie she sees. I took Roo with me to check on Lexia's temps and she just cought a glimps and puffed up and her little beard was black as all get out she even turned her back sideways and pancaked to make herself look bigger. Thanks Christine! I'm going to flip over the background I hope she likes bright fishies!!

The laundry room is where i usualy store kitchen stuff i never use. Out to the garage those go. I told Lexia once if she didnt start eatting for me id be having baby beardie soup for dinner in that crockpot. (id never ever harm her)

Maybe you should do what I have done, used plain colored poster paper, Although, I'm looking forward to rock walls, etc, when I finally move, (my viv's look pretty pathetic now) Lexia might think the fish are whales and are going to eat her.

I didn't mean the laundry room looked like a kitchen because of what was on the counter, but the fact that you have a nice counter and cabinets, I wouldn't move anything.

If Lexia is not eating, she won't make a good beardie soup, you have to fatten her up first, :laughing6:
Poor Lexia, we love her. :love5:

Well Lexia gave daddy a good scare this am LMAO!!!! Sorry i thought it was so funny mainly his reaction. It was bath time for them and since Lexia is his i set the bath infront of him and handed him Lexia. He sets her down in the bath and she goes completely under instantly. He freaked out. She was trying to drink normaly she dosnt go all the way under. But she was sooo thirsty i guess. I keep a small dish in there at the afternoon feeding because lexia and roo both drink from their water dish. He was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. He looked at me and said * i think she tried to commit beardieside* LMAO oh he made my day. Shes doing really well shes eating on her own. Shes 9 inches @ 9 weeks woot. I put 10 crickets in her viv and ill come back in a hour and there all gone. She eats all her veggies 2 dishs a day. Shes getting padding on the back of her head and her tail is starting to get nice and fat WOOT!!

Roo shes growing like a weed! She just hit 10 inches @ 9 weeks. She has such a wonderful personality. She is so courious about anything and everything. Shes not afraid of anything at all. My daughter brings Chimera over for a look here and there and she tries to climb out to get to him never puffs up nothing. Shes always glass dancing she loves to be out of the viv. I just cant put her in anything with out her getting out and i have to chase her down and shes a quick one lol

Lexia she hates roo or any other beardie she puffs up and does pushups. She dosnt run away she stands her ground. This is MY viv go away!!! I dont have any new pictures :( kiddos have both been using there cameras bleah!

Well i have a choice how to make with the girls viv's its 4 ft long 6 ft tall and 2 ft wide atm. I can either split that in 1/2 and give them both a huge viv each 4x3x2or i can make 3 4x2x2 id have one whole empty viv  My hubby knows if we make it a triple instead of a double id end up getting another baby someday. Im leaning twords just doing the 2 gah its a hard choice!

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hey! We’re the same age! That’s cool!
Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
Luna is thriving
