Hello,

This is the story of how we got our two baby dragons. It all started when my daughter brought home a beardie the whole family fell in love with him. You know some teens get when they get moody *dont touch him hes my beardie* gah it hurt because everyone loved him and played with him fed him we all pitched in. She even go so moody one day she moved his viv to her room so no one could see or play with him. (girls and pms  )So i made a thread http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=98235 * I want a BD for myself* i guess there was a few people who were in the same boat as me. Being a BD grandma is tuff! (She of course got over it and moved him back down stairs) I wanted to get one who might need a little more care or love thought first thing *rescue* I was checking cragelist daily not one bd post in the weeks i was looking. Then a breeder(DistDrag) posted on the thread letting me know he had 2 babys just hatched out that had small issues, one with a crooked tail and one with a leg that didnt work. They were the cutest things! I still had to get the ok from my hubby once he seen those pics he was hooked!! So he let me take them both! They were still way to young for me to get yet so we were happy to leave them with the breeder(DistDrag)till they were safe to travel. He kept us posted on how they were doing and posted updated pictures. The day came to where they were ready to be sent to us. Oh boy i was so excited i couldnt sleep and kept a eye out the window for them to get here! :blob8: :blob8: :blob8: :blob8: <-- that was me 10 fold lol I heard the UPS man drive up and i was out the door!
Still in the box!

This is the one with the left foot that dosnt work(My hubbys) He/she dosnt have a name yet.
Babys014.jpg

This is the one with the kink in the tail. I call her Roo short for Kangaroo.
Babys018.jpg

Heres a comparison between Chimera and Roo.
Babys019.jpg

They are both from the same clutch they are 1 month 1 week old and 6 1/2 inches long.

We will never let more than 1 of beardies to be out of their viv's at one time. Except for the 2 new babys just for a while so we can sit and watch tv with them to get them used to us. They both have their own vivs. I have to say ty to everyone! I have learned so much since i have joined! I dont think our babys would be as healthy as they are if it wasnt for all of you!

Ill be posting more pictures soon and more tails from their goofy antics lol

Holly does Miso have good control with the part of the tail after the kink? Ive noticed that Roo straitens hers out a bit or she will have the tail in a U shape too. I just noticed that yesterday.

I think she does still have some control in the kinked part of her tail, but I find it quite difficult to judge as Ruben uses his tail in every motion, so in comparrison she seems to not!
She does still have sensation in the bottom of her tail. I gave her a little nip test when she came home and she definatly let me know that she COULD feel it and that i would NOT be doing that again.

".. and boy when she had her tree in her cage that leg of hers didnt stop her from leaping all the way across her viv only to splat on the glass!"

Your comment is so funny--I just had to sit here and laugh. I can just picture it. They can be so funny when they're babies. Your babies are just adorable!

Lexi just kills me sometimes look at her little sad face :(
Babys047.jpg

Everytime I give her a bath thats the look I get I call it the *what did i ever do to you to deserve this* look.

Roo is growing like a dang weed. Eat poop eat poop eat some more and poop poop poop! Give mom a wicked grin everytime she has to clean it up! Shes going to be a hell raiser!

Lexi is growing but I think she may just be a little one. She is eating about 25 to 30 crickets a day eating her veggies she has been drinking out of her little dish. I even gave her a itty bitty waxworm that i found when i was giving Chimera his *candy bar* for the day. I give her alot of special treatment. Shes going to be one of those shy quiet little beardies I'm thinking.

Hehe im typing all this out because you know kids are they have to make you a fibber!

Im going to make a special trip to my moms to get that charger lol that would of been a great video! She was so brave it brought tears to my eyes.

We put them in there for 30 mins each to give them some running around space. Figured this might be good for them get them used to being out of their vivs.

Well we found out that Lexi really isnt into crickets unless i pick off all their legs...can you say :puke: So we placed a order for some Phoenix worm's. If you put a worm in her viv she will hunt it down and gobble it up there can be a cricket a inch away and she wont give it a second glance  Ive bought 5 diffrent kinds of baby food she hates them all even squash! picky picky. Roo i have nothing to say about Roo except zoommmmmmmmmm. Shes hell on wheels! :blob8: :blob8: :blob8: thats her all day long lol

Lexi getting a drink like a good girl.

Roo saying *mom mom mom can i get out please!*

See this cute face! How can you say no?
Babys131.jpg

Haha sounds EXACTLY like miso. We tried crickets and locust. Not a second glance. Butter worms? NOM NOM NOM NOM.
Girls have expensive taste.

Lovely to see Roo in a calmer state with a much whiter belly. You can tell she has bags of confidence!

Well i learned something new today. Lexi did what looked like a black beard? My daugher was playing with Roo and took her up to her sisters viv gooing and gahing at them she didnt think it was a bad idea well Lexi flipped out ran all over her viv and then ended up at the front and puffed up. Her little baby beard was dark dark! She looked scary  I scolded my daughter but im sure shes going to be seeing the others here and there. Since we have vivs all over the house. I am thinking about moving her to my bedroom maybe shes to stressed with all the movements all day and at night. Might be why she dosnt eat much. Because her viv is 100% what it needs to be. :banghead: The worms we just got her, she already stopped eathing those now too! So i gave her crickets dipped in calcium she only wanted 3. Any ideas?

Miso has had one too.
It was yesterday when she caught her first glimpse of Ruben (damnit! id gone a whole month without them seeing eachother). She went completely black and hid under her branch until I coaxed her out and wrapped her in her blankie.
Im also having a tough time keeping Miso's live intake consistant. Somedays its 4 butters, then 1, then nothing for two days, but at least Miso wolfs down her salad. You must be at your wits end.

I have heard breeders on here advise beardie slaves who have particularly skittish dragons to actually block off all sides of their vivs with paper towels to completely cut out outside interaction to help them settle.
I dont mean from top to bottom, just the height of one sheet of paper towel on its side (or vertical depending on how high her branches are) I believe.
Considering Lexi is obviously having a tough time it might be worth giving her a week of isolation and quiet time. So just daily feedings and a bath maybe every other day, no other handling unless its neccisary for feeding.

I think your right Holly thank you! I am at my wits end at least she isnt skinny as of yet but shes not fat either. And here we were so excited when she gobbled up 7 worms yesterday and today she wont touch them! Not even her veggies today. I'll move her up to my room no one goes in there except me and my hubby and only in the evenings. And no beardies are alowed upstairs so no chance of her seeing anyone else. Hows your little Rubie poo he any less grumpy? He still giving you the beards? Boy we are having a time with our little ones but we gotta love them!
