This is my second day as a bearded dragon keeper. Although "Dusk" is very lively alot of the time, after feeding him about 15 crickets, he is now laying in one spot, flattened out with his eyes closed/semi-closed.
Also, in between feeding him small amounts of crickets, he ran up my arm and leaped around a foot's distance into a wooden cabinet. Would this be a more likely cause for the behaviour? Or is this a normal after feeding?
Well, when you've had a big sunday dinner, what d'you like to do in the afternoon?
If your dragon is anything like me, he'll enjoy his dinner and then settle down for a good rest to let the food go down.
Sounds like he's also flattening out to increase his body heat when basking - that'll help him digest his dinner better.
If there aren't any other issues, I'm happy to say this is perfectly normal
Thanks for the reply. Just before his lights shut out, he went into his hide and burrowed in his towel. I had to give him 15 hours of light today in order to achieve his future light cycle, so i'm guessing he was also tired from that. He also wasn't blackbearding so I guess I was just being a worrier.
