my leopard gecko is having trouble eating. we dont know exactly how old she is but she is at least 10 years old. she is getting very skinny and is having a hard time eating. she can properly hunt the cricket and get it in her mouth but than she just chills there with it in her mouth and eventually goes for another cricket and drops the first one. i tried just giving her one cricket so she is not distracted but then she just shakes her head and it eventually falls out. what do you think is causing this and what should i do? any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks

Dont know if you sorted it out yet, but my leopard gecko is starting to do the same - not with crickets but with anything offered. He's not old yet, maybe 4 years max.
With dragons you can forcefeed, with geckos, well it just wont work. Try looking up a vet cause that's the only way I can see right now.

they do go on hunger strikes sometimes, but you *can* make them a slurry and force feed them...

In a blender, combine:
1 small can Hill's A/D pet food (available at most vets)

1/4-1/3 cup Ensure (not chocolate)

1 jar baby food squash -

1/4-1/3 cup Pedialite

2 crushed tablets or contents of 2 capsules Milk Thistle (herbal supplement, liver purifier, found at most drug stores.)

1/2 tsp. each calcium powder and herp vitamin powder -

1-2 extra large handfuls of mealworms
