Leopard geckos hate baths, and they will not drink from the water, they need to have a water dish.

Leopard geckos are nocturnal, and most of them are quite grumpy during the day. I've seen Hapi drink from his dish, but only at night. He seems to like it when I pour the water in - he runs over like he's going to hunt the trickling sound.

our leos drink from their dishes but we also spray the sides of their moist hide (tupperware) and theyll often lick it up off the walls too.

Hi Luv. You can feed geckos wax worms, butter worms, phoenix worms, mealies, small crickets, small locusts, and small roaches ( not the house hold kind) if you can find them...
geckos (leos) are indeed nocturnal.. Mine tend to do the same as ThyDemise's, they lick the moisture off the damp hide walls, as well as drink from a shallow bowl.
Hope this helps out..

I was just wondering about the syringe feeding, because on another website I'm on, they have a slurry recipe.

I'd like to paste it here, hopefully to help you out.

This recipe was developed to provide anorexic carnivorous and insectivorous geckos with life sustaining nutrition while they convalescing, and to help produce a stool for a veterinary fecal test. It is NOT medicine, and it will NOT cure anything.

In a blender, combine:

1 small can Hill's A/D pet food (available at most vets)
¼ cup Ensure (not chocolate)
1 jar baby food squash or pumpkin
¼ cup Pedialite
*2 tabs or contents of 2 capsules milk thistle (herbal supplement, liver purifier, found at most drug stores).
*2 tabs or contents of 2 capsules of Acidophilus (GI system probiotic, found at most drug stores).
1 tsp. calcium powder w/Vitamin D3
1/2 tsp. herp vitamin powder
2-4 X-large handful of mealworms, added slowly while mixture is blending until it is about the consistency of a milkshake.

*optional ingredients

Puree all ingredients until completely smooth. Pour into ice cube tray(s) and freeze. Store cubes in zip-lock bag in the freezer until ready to use, then thaw out 1 cube at a time and store in fridge for 2-3 days. You can use the empty baby food jar for this purpose, washing it thoroughly after each use.

Using this mixture, draw a full 1ml dropper (eye dropper type) and place a drop on the gecko's nose, being careful not to plug the nostrils. Be patient and do not force-feed! The gecko will lick it of its nose, and as it does, slowly squeeze out a little at a time. Most geckos love this food, and will lap it up.

~ NEVER tell anyone you put mealworms in the blender! ~

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?
