hey i just upgraded to a 55 gallon tank... I have a large exo-terra compact top with my uvb on one side and than my basking lamp... but the other side is very dark. the tank came with LED hood lighting.. could i add that to the darker side just to brighten it up... its about 10watts of led.
LED is fine for lighting/brightness (so long as its not pointing into the eyes or where your dragon would be inclined to stare at it) but just be aware it doesn't have any UVA so may not appear white and 'sunlike' to dragons like it does for us. I have an LED flood light in my enclosure (for plants) and its nice and bright, e doesn't seem to mind it at all. Also, you don't want to get ones that are very blue. 5-6.5K is about as cool a color temperature as you want to go (it is usually on the packaging).
