Hi Everyone,
I am not sure in what forum I should post this; it's regarding safety. Earlier today I took Gryphon outside for sun as usual. We were out about 10 min. & he was walking and nosy as usual when he suddenly bolted. He went 30 ft. in SECONDS!! I couldn't catch him. Thank goodness my friend was visiting & grabbed him before he disappeared into the woods. Gryph has never done this before but now I have to take precautions. Does anyone know if the lizard leashes/harnesses are safe? If he would bolt again wearing a harness I'm afraid it would break his neck/back/leg. Any advice will be appreciated.
I appreciate your info KarrieRee. But I am not looking for a costume. I am searching for info regarding the safety of leashes, harnesses and vests for sale from Amazon, Pet Co, etc... I almost lost Gryphon today. He didn't just scamper off. He went from a basking stance to a full-on BOLT. I googled their speed. 9 miles per hour. I was wearing sneakers & running as fast as I could. I jog 3 miles 5-6 days weekly. I could not catch him. My guy friend belly dived onto the ground & grabbed Gryph. I am afraid a lizard harness will hurt or kill him if he decides to bolt again. Just looking for info if anyone has had a similar situation. If not, Gryph is not going outside. Ever.
Pampered beardies used to sell leashes as well that's why I posted the website- they may not sell them anymore- I got one from them that goes over and under the arms like a harness- it's on Etsy search my reptilerocksleashes see if it comes up and if that's what your looking for
Wow! That is fast
