Anyone else have an incredibly lazy lizard.? Toothless is a year old and I turn the lights on at about 10am and it doesn't matter if I take him out at 11, 2pm or 4pm. Within minutes of taking him out, he's looking for a place to burrow in and go to sleep. And if we let him, he'll actually go to sleep. He's such a deep sleeper. And he'll sleep as long as we let him.

Surely that's not a health issue, he's just lazy as hell, right.?

Pic of a sleepy boi that's mad I woke him up to get warm after four hours of sleeping.

He doesn't eat a whole lot, it started a few months ago. He'll eat some superworms, some hornworms, a few bits of repashy gel, maybe a few bites of salad. He's slowed way down on eating but basks whenever he's in his tank and does poop first thing every morning and he's still active and alert when he isn't napping

I'm assuming he's sleeping sleeping. Either that or he's napping and ignoring the heck out of me when I try to wake him.😅

How long is he basking?
Most of the day, until I take him out and when I put him.back, he still basks, unless he's running around his tank or he's laying in the corner by his bed. (Which only happens after he comes back from going somewhere like the store)

The only time I've noticed he stops is if I bring him somewhere, afterwards, he'll crawl off his hide after a bit and go into the corner of his tank, almost to hide. I think going out is exhausting for him or something. 😅

Or stressing him out-
He's okay while we're out, he sits still in my lap, looks around and isn't real dark nor is he streaked up. I don't bring him places often, maybe once or twice a week to get him used to being outside. He is still a little afraid of the outside. Maybe not afraid, exactly, but he's a little nervous still about everything outside.

It takes them some time to really be comfortable going out to new places.
Chomp was my exception, from her first car ride (we were moving, she was in the middle seat but could see up front through the windshield) she was standing on her hind legs trying to see as much as possible. She loved going ANYWHERE and loved the attention she got everywhere.
She was a great ambassador for beardies.
All my other beardies except Sinatra have come to love traveling also, but it took them a little time to warm upto it.

Yeah, they don't mind it, really. Once toothless realizes the trees are going to swoop down and eat him, he'll find a place to lay and nap. And Nova loves being held up in the window to look out it like a dog. And they're well behaved when we're in places too. It's just, something about it makes Toothless wanna nap more.😅

I know this is off topic but I wanted to ask, I just noticed my youngest decided to paint Toothless' nails. I know it's kids nail polish, they got it in some makeup kit at some point but it wouldn't come off with a rag and water. There's no ingredient list, because it's so small. But you don't think it'll hurt him, since he doesn't lick his feet..?

It should be ok I think. Once it's dried there shouldn't be fumes and being kids it's probably nontoxic.
