but does anyone elses beardie sit under the basking light and have the eye facing you closed and the other one open not facing. its not lighting i got the 10.0 tube light and 110 basking temp only does it on the eye facing me and if i snap or tap on the glass he opens it then he closes it again doesnt matter what i as long as it is facing me haha i dont know y????
i forgot to mention its a reptisun uvb 10.0 buld and my basking spot is 110 the uvb bulb is about 6-8 inches away and i have a electronic thermometer and a probe on the end and he eats and drinks regularly and i soak him every other day for 30 mins in warm water i got everything right in check
now ive noticed he is always keeping his right i shut unless he is moving then its open but if im holding him or he is walking its open and i dont know y ?? its bugging me he sits there with his right eye closed but not the left and if he stops walking he will close it im doing everything right but idk whats wrong
Just take a look at it and make sure there isnt anything in there! How old is the uvb light? Also just that with the calcium and see if it helps! Also is he pooing ok?
Is the basking light a white or colored bulb? Are the basking & UVB lights right alongside each other? Is there any skin about to shed around his eye? You could try flushing his eye with some saline solution, not the type for contacts, just the same thing that it used for flushing, and see if that makes any difference.
ive had bearded dragons for many years now and all my lighting and everything is correct ... and when a bd closes 1 eye it means that the other eye is just focusing on something .....soo idk if that helps answer your question
and the uvb and basking light are not right next to eachother.
could it be the reflection in the tank making him focus on himself.
i dont think he has anything in it he did juss shed last week and thats when i noticed it. ill try and see if he has anyleft over shed but i dont think there is cant see any leftover skin .
how could i tell if there is anything in it if its closed pretty much all the time ??
can i juss use water to clean it out?
and he poops everyday and eats everyday.
and i juss got the bulb like 1.5 weeks ago its brand new??
Both of my dragons will rest one eye for a while while keeping the other looking at me. I even double checked one of their lights to be 100% sure it was the reptisun 10 today (I've heard of people buying the reptisun 10 but someone had switched it out for a cheaper light), but I feel like my guys are just resting and trying to keep track of things.
