My 4 year old male bearded dragon went completely black on his beard and chest just yesterday morning, I placed him in his tank and left him all day to see if he would settle but no still completely black, later that night I brought him out and gave him a soak to see if that would help but no he was still black and was now super swollen on his belly he was also head bobbing a lot, I don’t have any emergancy vets that take beardies in my area so I stayed up watching him overnight and the next morning he was still black and more swollen, I booked him into the vet and they ran bloods and have called to say he’s most likely got kidney failure but an ultrasound tomorrow will confirm, they said he has elevated phosphorus, elevated potassium, and an inverse calcium to phosphorus ratio. He was being given fluids under the skin as they couldn’t find a vein but they closed about an hour ago and the animals are left unattended.
I just want to know how long they can survive as I am worried he will die overnight before they get a chance to idea sound tomorrow I’d just like to ease my mind if possible
The photos are from yesterday he has since become sure lethargic and can barely move
