In my enclosure for my baby beardie I have a nice piece of driftwood-type of branch that he uses to bask on and sleep on. My problem is that when he poops on it, it smells REALLY bad. I try to keep his enclosure as clean as possible. Every time he poops on the paper towels that I have down, I replace them. And when he poops on the wood I take it out, remove the poop and try to scrub it. Some days it doesn't seem to smell - other days it smells BAD.
Anybody have tips for keeping it clean (smell free?)
My beardies defecate 90% of the time in their regular baths. Of the times one may let loose in their terrarium it is usually on the slate tile.....which is easily removed and replaced with a clean tile. I use steam vapor to clean anything porous and kill everything nasty after I brush the heavy mess off with running hot water! The wood takes a little more attention to clean but it is very manageable.
Bless,
Bill
