We dont use pesticides and the neighbors dont either. New taste treat...dandelion flower with a sprinkle of calcium powder lol. He ate the whole flower top.
Whats amazing is all the health benefits they provide, esp the flowers! They are an excellent source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, and calcium and provide antioxidant benefits. They also promote liver and kidney health. Glad my dragon likes them!Great
If we wold have them here, I would get them too for sure!
Know them as treats for various pets from when I grew up in Germany, for example the rabbits and birds (various kinds o parrots) loved them, and I ate them too once in a whileWhich is no that weird; think of "dandelion honey" (an old-fashioned syrup) or them from time to time served on top of a salad at a more fancier restaurant. Really miss them.
Awesome!Licky absolutely loves dandelion flowers, too! They're fully in bloom now where I am, there's a park by my house that has a hill that is completely covered in them right now. I know they don't use pesticides on that side of the hill because it's in shadow and no one ever steps on that grass so it's completely overgrown, so whenever I take a walk there I collect some dandelion leaves and flowers for him.
When I see any in puffball mode (hopefully soon!) I'm going to collect the seeds because I want to start growing them in my garden so he can eat them more easily.
Be a little cautious on how many though. I guess they are a diuretic and you know, moderation. But Im sure one a day is fine!I'll pick dandelions like I'm a flower girl.
