Hey there I am new to this group ! Hey all beardie lovers .
My beardies name is Louie and I adopted him from petco almost 2 months ago .
My concern is that he was eating fine with crickets and his greens which was collard greens and carrots . He doesn’t like any bell peppers or cucumbers or anything on his salad .
I tried Dubias and he ate them one time in his tank and won’t eat them now . He actually isn’t eating anything all of a sudden not even salads . It’s been 6 days of barely eating . He is still pooping and peeing . More pee than poo . I give him baths every other night and he drinks his water in the bath . I mist him daily . He still basks and his temps are 102-105 hot side is 92 and cool is 76 . I just don’t know what else to do . Any suggestions I greatly appreciate!

This is him this morning basking
Your screen looks to be a wide hole type please get the distance approx 8-10 inches from your basking decor- also I only see stickons for temp gauges -- please get two digital probe thermometers to get an accurate surface basking temp-- we want to rule the temps out and the UVB for reason of not eating - peat moss I am not sure of but the other stuff for the substrate is often used- and the hammock is famous for causing nail and leg injuries -- I would recommend a cloth or fleece hammock - you can find them on Etsy.com

I agree with @AHBD, he looks like he isn't feeling to good. You can kinda see it around his eyes.
Your setup look really nice and seems to be up to par, I think maybe a trip to the vet is a good idea. Babies should have a ravenous appetite, when they don't eat it's a sing of trouble.
Something you might try though is feeding him in a small clear tote. Just sit him in and release the bugs a frw at a time. Them moving around may trigger his instincts to hunt.
If the bugs are not in or are escaping the bowl in his habitat he may not realize they are there.

There’s 2 digital temp thermometers in there . I just haven’t taken the stick one off . And I have a temp gun and a probe on his basking spot . I’ll switch out the hammock . His basking temp is 107 at the moment . I switched some stuff around in there and had the light off for a bit . I keep getting diff opinions on his basking temps . Some say 100-105 at the most and you said 110 . And his distance from light to basking spot is 11-12”. UVB distance is 13” and 11” at the highest spot on his branch .

I have tried feeding him in a tote and he hates it . Won’t even acknowledge the bugs . When he was eating he liked to chase them in his tank . The crickets I would hand feed to him . But nothing now and I agree his eyes look tired . I know something is wrong with the little guy . Hoping to get him an appt asap.

On the screen it needs to be 8-10 inches--- its too far away w/ it being on the screen - temps for a 6 month old and up 95-100-- under 6 months 105-110--

I’m not sure his exact age , they didn’t even know at the pet store sadly . I’m thinking of mounting the lights inside and getting a big sandstone rock for his basking as they hold consistent heat better . Now if I mount the lights inside I would have to mount the uvb inside as well right?

Your lights are fine -- w/ the wide hole screen I would just adjust your basking decor - its easier to move that than putting the lights in the tank -- work w/ your surface basking temps -- hes going to tell you what he likes watch his behavior - if hes sitting directly on top of the basking decor its good - if hes moved off to the side or down lower its too hot -- his poop will tell you - if hes pooping undigested bugs temps is not hot enough

Ok I adjusted his basking area closer to, just put some bricks under it . With the temp gun it’s 110 . The probe says 107 and it’s on his basking spot . He hasn’t popped or anything yet today . Been waiting to see .

These are the mealworms he used to eat and they are normal size . The crickets he used to eat were small-medium . The Dubia roaches he never really ate but they were small also. I never gave him anything to large and I cut his salads up . I contacted a reptile vet and I’m waiting to hear back since my regular vet does not see reptiles .
Yeah those aren't too big. Hopefully the problem will be easy to fix though, the fecal test will show if it's parasites and those can usually be treated successfully.

Yes it’s right in between both basking lights
ok so long as your distance is good I am not sure what else would be the issue w/ him not eating unless its too many parasites-- as stated before NO enemas - take a fecal in w / you please -- and if they do put him on meds that too is going to effect the appetite

Got it . He has not gone to the bathroom all day and hasn’t eaten anything . I’m going to give him a bath soon so he can drink some water .

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
