Hey there I am new to this group ! Hey all beardie lovers .
My beardies name is Louie and I adopted him from petco almost 2 months ago .
My concern is that he was eating fine with crickets and his greens which was collard greens and carrots . He doesn’t like any bell peppers or cucumbers or anything on his salad .
I tried Dubias and he ate them one time in his tank and won’t eat them now . He actually isn’t eating anything all of a sudden not even salads . It’s been 6 days of barely eating . He is still pooping and peeing . More pee than poo . I give him baths every other night and he drinks his water in the bath . I mist him daily . He still basks and his temps are 102-105 hot side is 92 and cool is 76 . I just don’t know what else to do . Any suggestions I greatly appreciate!

What are you using for uvb? It needs to be a long florescent tube not the little screw in bulbs. Also your basking is a tad cool. Babies need 105 to 110.
Next question is the poop chase you out of the room stinky? Watery isn't necessarily a bad indicator. A well hydrated beardie can have watery poop sometimes. But foul smelly poop is an indicator of parasites. Collect a sample of the poop and drop it off at the vets for a float test. Whatever you do don't let them do an enema to get a sample. It ends in tragedy way more often than not. Also dont over pay for the fecal test, some vets try to charge an extortionate amount. It should be less than 100 bucks.

I have the 24” reptisun t5 10.0 uvb . When I up the basking area he will go to the cooler basking area so I thought he was getting to hot but I can try again tomorrow to set it higher . Ty ! Also no his poop isn’t to smelly , not overwhelming anyway . Today he only had urate and no poo , because of no food I’m sure .

Your lights sound ok, is there a new pet or something new in the room that might be stressing him?

Maybe post some pics of your habitat setup. Include the lighting and the decore. Also a good picture of the screen top (it can effect how much uvb is getting to your beardie) I'll flag a couple folks, maybe if something is off we can get it corrected 🙂 @KarrieRee @AHBD @CooperDragon
Where is the UVB? I would get your surface basking temps down to 95-100 -- what is the screen on the tank fine mesh or wide hole type?

Hello, welcome to you and Louie ! Let's see if we can get things figured out. What size are [ were ] the insects he's eating and can you show a pic of some insects next to him for context ? Also post a few pics of the entire enclosure, lights, etc

Dubia 4x2x2 tank . Fine mesh top . Reptisun t5 10.0 UVB . 2 150w basking bulbs on hot side . Just using a regular 75w led bulb on the cool side . He is 12” away from basking bulb . He’s sleeping now so I don’t have any pics of his bugs . He isn’t eating anything that I’ve seen in the last 6 days . Drinking water tho and going to the bathroom . Mostly urate . I offer greens everyday with calcium powder . He’s active and basks most of the day .

Sorry I didn't get back to you last night, I zonked out . The enclosure is beautiful, nice use of branches for climbing ! Louie does look tired/unwell. Can you post a few pics of the size of the insects he's eating next to him ? The concern is if they were too large and he's having trouble digesting them. And what is the substrate ? There's a possibility that he may have eaten some. Then the fact that he's from a big box store, he might have parasites. Those are a few things that might be affecting him. As xp29 menioned, can you find a good vet to do a fecal test ? No enema though, they can be deadly , esp. for a juvenile dragon.

These are the mealworms he used to eat and they are normal size . The crickets he used to eat were small-medium . The Dubia roaches he never really ate but they were small also. I never gave him anything to large and I cut his salads up . I contacted a reptile vet and I’m waiting to hear back since my regular vet does not see reptiles .

I can feel her staring into my soul demanding food
She was having a staring contest with a mealworm. I guess I never taught her to not play with her food, lol.
