what are these burritos I hear of? Are they good for your beardie? Do they help building trust if you rock your beardie to sleep like I've heard?
I have ample funds to make any drastic changes to spikes setup if need be
Also any suggestions on substrate what is the best? If you are not 100% or 99% sure then do not post about substrate ideas
I've had Spike 2 years and I'm just checking over his setup
It seems to me the tank is a little small, but if he is only 16" in length he has room to turn around.
Does he have all his tail? Just curious to why he is only 16" at 2yrs old.
Sand is fine since he is an adult, but if it is reptisand or calcisand it is not recommended. Basically children's playsand is a good sand to use and cheaper.
I am not sure your sun glo exo terra bulb is a UVB light, which is needed. I thought they were only basking (heat) bulbs.
A beardie burrito is just a person wrapping a beardie in a small blanket type cloth and laying them on their chest to sleep.
 you're right it's not uvb!!! I can't believe I didn't notice on the box I'll change that tomorrow
and yes spike does have a tail I think maybe he's of a smaller type
About the length issue: Redrock was 16 3/4 inches at 2 years old. It can happen. From what I've read, adult beardies can be anywhere from 16" to 24". Redrock was one of the shorter length of beardies, maybe his is also.

I only said I was curious as to why he was 16". Sometimes a beardie has a tail nip etc. Maybe I should have been more careful of my wording. Hope I didn't offend anyone.
Oscar had a slow start and seemed to have caught up, but I don't think he is as big as many of the adult beardies here. It's also been awhile since I measured him. Tomorrow I want to wake him up to check, LOL
as for substrate i would definitely have to say tile is the best... easy to clean, easy to disinfect!!! sand can cause build up although many people do use it with success but i feel like when you sift the poop out,, all that bacteria still stays in the rest of the sand. i think its a bacteria breeding ground and i'm doing some research on it in one of my science class in grad school : tile bacteria vs. sand bacteria (left over and etc)
