my beardie has been jumping out of my hand when ever i take him out of my tank.. can it be that his tank is too high off the ground? if anyone knows or thinks they know why please tell me Thanks!
My beardie does the same thing! He seems to be curious about the top of his tank? Of course, he also has a bit of a deathwish. His favorite past time is attempting to climb onto the highest thing in sight so he can jump off and give me a heart attack
I'm not sure there's a reason for it, but I do know I've heard many other owners have the same problem. Probably not the answer you were hoping for, but that's my two cents.
Most babies think they are super dragons and can fly. They will calm down and realize taking a flying leap off the couch maybe isn't such a good idea after they're bigger. I think Slick stopped his ninja moves at about 3.5 months or so. Just be aware he may try to jump and plan accordingly.

My dragon has that problem. She about 6 months now and she still tries to just jump off of everything.
Just last month she actually broke her hip from jumping off my bed, She's healed up and okay now. But she still tries to do it all the time. It's nerve wrecking for me sometimes. She's a daredevil. hahaha.

I can't answer this but my baby jumped out of my hand like an hour ago, and I am scared he hurt himself (though he's acting fine I think). Just make sure you secure him as you're taking him in and out of his cage, I guess. My little guy is a baby so I just make sure I secure him between my thumb and forefinger as I'm taking him out.
My baby doesn't jump out of my hand, but he does try to jump from one thing to another and give me a heart attack lol
Last night, me and boyfriend had him out and he jumped from his leg to his other leg to my leg (we were sitting in chairs maybe 6 inches from each other) then to my shirt. When he tried to make the jump from his leg to mine, I thought he wasn't gonna make it  Little guy is a better jumper then I thought.
I think he likes to pretend he is a real dragon. :love5:
I tell Ziggy, "you know when you are bigger those jumps aren't gonna be as easy", and he'll just look at me and tilt his head like "yeah we'll see about that ma".
Harley never was really a big jumper. The only times I catch her jumping is when she jumps off her basking slate to the floor of her cage or from her log to the floor of the cage. Outside the cage, she only jumps from the top of the back of the couch down to the arm of the couch and all of those are pretty much just hops, not really full on jumps. She is cautious around edges and actually peers over to look down first. Kind of funny watching her look down at the floor from the edge of the arm of the couch. I'd prolly have a heart attack if she did some of the jumps I read from other posters.
So my beardie's been doing the same thing... But she jumped off of my shoulders... She's never done it before, so I was especially surprised... Maybe I won't do that again. ;P She basically jumped off at the eight of 5 ft. I hope she's okay :/
