Soooo Jaxson has been eating green peppers and sweet peas out the pod and today Jaxson ate carrots. Now I’m guessing it’s because I didn’t put any roaches or crickets in the enclosure as I usually do (actually forgot but I’m glad Jaxson had veggies to eat)
So I was so excited to see Jaxson’s veggies gone so I put in a Salad. Added some Green Cabbage and Kale. Jaxson didn’t eat it.... moved the other way a little. So I was like um ok. I added mealworms to it and Jaxson Demolished that salad and worms!!!!!!! ?
Now I’m a little worried because I was told Beardies are only suppose to get mealworms 2x per week. Is it an exception if Jaxson will only eat the salad with mealworms?????
Superworms are way better than mealworms. Try giving Jaxson superworms ( preferably crickets or roaches) instead. I think you may need to change he’s diet. Do you feed him kale and cabbage often? Kale isn’t the most ideal green to give beardies. PM me if ya have any questions! ?
I agree --- try mustard collard and turnip greens--- they are more of a staple than the kale I have heard conflicting stories on kale so I just dont feed it to Hiccup when I have other choices--- green beans are good to throw in there - I have never fed Hiccup cabbage either --- he get fruit like apples blueberries strawberries and sweet potato as well --- ck out the feeding board there is a nutrition link for stuff to feed them

He gets roaches mostly but won’t eat the salad. The worms are the only thing that stays in the salad. Here we don’t get the small super worms. Every store here has huge ones. I’ve been told by most ppl to give kale. I just started the cabbage this week only because I’m cooking it for my family and chopped some up for Jaxson before hand.

Jaxson Hates blueberries and will only eat strawberries every once in a while and only when I hand feed. He shakes his head for the most part. SHe hates bananas and mangos. I’ll try apples tomorrow. Jaxson like grapes though but I give the grapes every so often. I’ll try sweet potato and collard again. Jaxson wouldn’t budge at collards or mustard but I will try them both again. Can they have the leaf of the green bean or do I have to just give the bean?
Not sure about the leaf I just get fresh green beans from the store and cut it up and add to his salad- you can try carrots - shred them and add to his salad- I dont feed Hiccup carrots cuz thats what I feed the roaches so hes getting carrots just not in the salad-- they are picky about fruit that is for sure--
