Is Vaseline Beardie Safe?

Dewey's going through another rough shed on his back around to his belly. He's starting to turn a pinkish color. I dealt with this a while back and was advised to use the Cocoa Butter stick (100% cocoa butter) which worked wonders for Dewey! I just tried putting some on him, but the stick seems to have dried up pretty badly so it's not really going on very well. I do have a tub of Cocoa Butter Vaseline which I use on my dog's nose. I know isn't the same thing, but can I use this on Dewey?

Hi, sorry to hear about Dewey's rough shed again. I wouldn't recommend using the vaseline on him because a lot of it may not sink in and could cause burns when he's in his basking area. It's also very hard to wash off. I would suggest picking up another 100% cocoa butter stick as that does work very well and helped him so much the last time. Please be sure to keep us updated on him.

Thanks for the reply. I did end up going out to buy a new stick and have been using that, but it's still nice to know that vaseline isn't safe. Guess I'll keep that away from him.
