He's 2 years old and his tail has been like this for a while now.

The past few days he's been acting strange, very lethargic, not very interested in eating, kind of twitchy/spasm-y when he does move. The first day of this behavior his beard was black. The next day it was back to a normal color

Hi there, no tail rot at all. It looks like it may be heading for a shed since they shed different parts of the body at different times and can take longer with adults. Nothing at all to worry about. :)

Hello,

I concur, the tail looks fine, definitely no infection!
Has his tail been shedding lately?

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.

Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
