Hi, so i've had my bearded dragon now for 3 years, (shes 4 now) and just recently the top (about an inch and a half) of her tail has became black/brown, she still eats fine and every time she eats crickets i dust them with calcium, i am almost certain that she isn't shedding right now, so just tell me what you think about it and thanks in advance.
ps. i put neosporin on her tail which is why it's shiney
I haven't done anything except cleaned it well and put neosporin on it (i read somewhere to do that) and i'm not sure what you mean by antibiotic ointment, i don't have anything like that i don't think... also, no, i haven't noticed anything at all that could've caused it! she hasn't injured it or anything either.
The neosporin is an antibiotic ointment, so continue to use that daily. It could be just retained shed, but, it definitely needs to be taken care of & watched to make sure that it doesn't start traveling upward on the tail.
Has she recently shed her tail?
I would watch that area very closely! It is already necrotic so hopefully, that area will just dry out & fall off instead of become infected on the rest of the tail.
