I recently ordered a ceramic heat emitter and I was wondering if a fixture for a regular heat bulb is ok. It also has a dimmer.

You'll need to read up on that one in particular to see how it is rated, but honestly it looks like a plastic socket. The heat emitters really should be put in a fixture with a ceramic socket.

As long as the wattage on it is correct for bulb-- it will say inside the dome --I would not use the dimmer- I am bad did not catch the socket ------------ it needs to be ceramic -- no plastic

I just realized that, is there any you would recommend?

It wont.

It says on the box that particular fixture is not intended for use with CHE's. You typically want a fixture rated higher than the wattage bulb you will be running, for longevity sake.

If the fixture you already bought has a ceramic base, you can use that one. If you are unsure, you can post a picture of the socket and we will tell you.

Indeed! I apologize for my inattention.
I saw in the description that it is intended for 24 hour heating lamps and thought that it was talking about ceramic lamps.
The box does indeed say that the dome cannot be used with ceramic heaters, you need to find another option.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
