I just measured my dresser that I'm keeping Robert's viv on top of right now, it's 44 inches wide and 18 inches deep. If I was to build his future viv with those dimensions would it be big enough? Would a 40 gallon breeder fit up there? Also, how much do slate tiles cost?
i disagree, i have a 49" long, 18" wide tank and i get along fine, the 40gal breeder minimum is 18" wide, of course as big the bigger the better, but i would not say it is too small at all, just make it 24" high if you can to add some climbing space in there.
My other idea is to convert my closet into a viv for him, does that seem feasible? I'll measure it later, it's pretty big though. I was thinking I could replace the doors on there with glass ones to let in some light and put tiles on the floor. It's already got outlets in it. That would be cool because I could go in there and sit with him.
I would say it is large enough as a viv and for a 40 gal breeder stand. My 40 gal breeders are only 36" long so you are adding 8" to that, nice. Like Buggsy said, add the basking spot on a second level to add some ground space...
