I was at a pet shop near my home and seen a snow bearded dragon he is one of the most beautiful beardies i have seen. It is a male that is about 15'' long. I currently have your average variety bearded dragon ( no special mix that i know of) that is a female almost identical in size. What I was wondering is do you think it is worth buying the snow bearded dragon for $150 because it is a different kind of berdie. And is it worth breeding with my female?
breeding is a huge massive topic, theres no guarrantee that they would make babies that look like the snow one. its like 50%. The main thing is that you do your homework on it. Gravid dragons will lay around 20 eggs at a time and up to like 120 total. Thats a ton of babies that your going to have to take care of. lighting food and bath time will be much more taxing.
I suggest that if you only want him for breeding reasons that you do a massive amount of reading.
Depending on the bloodlines that went into the snow, and whatever may be in the genetic mix of your female, you are probably only looking at a 17 to 25% chance of producing a healthy snow morph. And thats assuming that there is some genetic marker in your female that would go towards producing a snow.

Is the snow worth breeding!!!! I think any healthy dragon is worth breeding. But being the way you worded this topic, one would think you were in it for the money Too many times I see some one seeing dollars signs and not pets. You have to eat, sleep, and breathe dragons. You have to have a passion for this. There are more things to think about before breeding. With the increasing number of animals being bred today are you going to be able to provide a home for them? Light bill! Housing. What about feeders?? If this is something you truly want to do, then do some research, and some planning. Ask more questions. you got support. I just people to see these animals as our pets and not a get rich quick scheme. The best of luck to what ever you decide to do!! I have been quite combative towards people breeding for a quick buck. I apologize to all as I let my own emotions get out of control because of the stupidity of others I have talke dto in the past few days,. I mean nothing of it, I just want everyone to see these as our pets first!! Good Day to all

That information is not neccessarily coming from the use of a Punit Square. The issue with a snow is that its not always part of a genetic trait (some snows are hypos but not all, some are just color/line traits). By saying that there is a small chance of the trait passing is gauging on if the snow dragon has any genetic markers that will pass his color trait and if the female has any genetic markers that will blend with the trait to help reproduce the snow color. You could easily breed a snow dragon to a normal and end up with orange/red/yellow/or normal offspring or you could come out with a large number of light colored "snow" dragons, or you could come out with all normals. There are too many unknowns when dealing with breeding dragons of unknown genetic backgrounds.
This forum is for members to ask questions and to be able to be comfortable asking them without being lectured. We certainly can understand why some owners would get defensive about the whole breeding subject BUT not everyone is in it for the money. Please try to keep an open mind before responding so that members don't feel discouraged from asking questions. We are all here to learn and in order to broaden our beardie knowledge, questions should be asked. Thanks.
