I have had a bearded dragon for about three years now and i've never really had any real probelems with her.
About 3-4 months ago i found out dragon is a girl when she laid about 18 eggs.
i was scared and worried about her while she was pregnant so i took her to the vet and they said she was fine, just needed more time to lay her eggs.
i replaced her sand for cypress bedding, and she laid her eggs the next day.
she was really worn out for a week after, but was okay after that
i have noticed about a month ago that her backbone seems to be more noticeable than normal.
she's not skinny though....
my parents say that in just being paranoyed, but i hear of all kinds of diseases on the internet that scare me and i want to be sure shes okay.
i have noticed that she has toned down a little before having her eggs, not running around much and relaxing most of that day...
she has all the right equipment and i sprinkle her crickets with calci-dust
any suggestions or concerns?????
How old is your female dragon? Do you know her current weight? Can you post a picture of her?
Well, first off, is she housed with a male? Or did she lay infertile eggs?
What type & brand of UVB light are you using, is it a flourescent tube or a compact or coil light?
Do you supplement calcium on a regular basis? Anytime that they lay clutches of eggs, it is a good idea to supplement extra calcium to help them replace what they have lost through egg laying.
If her spine is showing, then, she is way too thin. You will need to start feeding her extra food right now. What does she eat currently?
She has a normal basking light and one of those long calcium lights.
i have been giving her extra calcium to replace it from the eggs.
she is not housed with a male, the eggs were infertile.
she's not skinny i swear it just looks like her backbone is more like high i guess.
she has been acting normal and stuff
What brand of UVB light is it, the Reptisun 10 or the Reptiglo 10? How old is the UVB light?
Is her appetite improving?
Well, that is great you are giving her extra calcium to help replace the calcium that she has lost.
So she has been pretty active lately as well?
I would like to see a picture of her when you can get one up. Thanks.
