For the past two weeks, my 3yo girl has been absolutely refusing her salads, and barely eating much of anything I try to give her. Normally, she'd get up on her own and walk down to her bowl, and gulp down as many insects as she could stuff her face with, but her appetite has severely lessened. She's never been really active, but I have noticed her starting to actually snooze during the day, and bury herself in her blanket. The temps and lighting in her cage are all sufficient for her age, so I'm somewhat concerned about her sudden lack of interest in food, but she does still move around a little during the day so I'm also hesitant to claim it on brumation. Does anyone have any other opinions on the matter? I'm really worried about my girl!!
Has she not ever brumated prior to now?
Her behavior sounds typical of brumation, as it is usually this time of year. I have found most do tend to stop eating greens too & slow down for naps during the day. The lazy lizards! LOL
Is she losing weight or maintaining it? You could try to get a fecal done on her to be sure it isn't anything else that could be going on.
Which UVB are you using & how old is it?
