Is a coil UVB light OK for a beardie?

For my bearded dragon, I use a UVB coil light 26W. I have been checking on this site and on internet about them, as I have rencently descovered that coil lights might not be the best for bearded dragons. I change it every 6 months, and it is not too blinding to look at. Also,on the carton of the box there is a picture with a bearded dragon, and it is specially for desert reptiles. I have read that they may damage bearded dragons eyes, but Buddy ( my bearded dragon) seems ok and can see insects from very far. What I want to know is if I should change it for another, and, if so, which would you recommend? Thank you. 🦎

No please get rid of the coil--- you want a long tube fixture -- here are 3 recommended on this forum

Thank you! I want to get the Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 UVB Fluorescent T5 Ho Bulb (22", 24 Watt) one, but what color light does it give off? I don't want a purple light, I want a white or yellow. Thank you again!

I have the same one, with the ZooMet ReptiSun T5HO Hood (24 inch). The light is bright white with a hint of blue in the visible part of the spectrum (= what we can see) and has of course UVB (=which the dragon can see but we don't).
The good lamps are never purple. UVB lamps always look a bit blue to us just because of the spectrum they produce. They are not tinted, the glass is clear.

Exactly, I want to highlight what KarrieRee wrote: This is the right one, the one your dragon will do well with.
It's not important how the lamps look for us, but it's important that they provide the right spectrum for bearded dragons, and that one does :)

Ok, but what light fixture should I order? l live in Europe, so I don't use dollars. I can't find any light fixtures for t5 Ho bulbs on internet.

The light fixture is the "hood".
You need those two things:
* Zoo Med Zoo Med ReptiSun T5 HO Terrarium Hood (24 inch); comment from me: in cm this is 61 cm
* Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 UVB Fluorescent T5 HO Bulb (22", 24 Watt); comment from me: in cm this is 55 cm, and the description often says "Desert"

They are available in Europe. I myself don't live in Europe right now, but in a country that uses also 220 V and mine are imported from Europe. You should get them from e.g. Amazon, or any large (online) pet store in your country. E.g.: If you are in Germany or Austria, the (online) pet store "Fressnapf" has them, but as I said, each larger online pet store should have them, and also Amazon.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
