I just got my first beardie for Christmas. While I'm new to the bearded dragon world, I'm not new to exotic lizards. I used to breed chameleons about 15 years ago (ouch saying how long its been makes me feel old). This little guy is SO much more fun than the chameleons ever were.
My boyfriend knew I wanted one, so he got a baby from one of those chain horror shop of pets. Figured I'd introduce myself here and start a journal of my little guy. See how everyone's experience stacks up.
Thanks, I posted a few on Falcor's new beardie tails thread.
I do have a question ... it's a ravenous little beast when it comes to food (finished off a 100 count of medium phoenix worms in a little over a week).
Can I either grow the next batch, or buy large size worms so they last longer? The Med are right about as big as the space between his eyes, but since they are soft bodied and he seems to chew them well, I was wondering if I could get away with larger ones.
Mine is eating me out of house and home! Lol. I looked into some of the breeding options and dubias seem to be the easiest and least maintenance choice.
Welcome aboard. I have 3 beardies, 2 of them are babies and they are absolute piggies! I feel like I am almost single-handedly keeping cricket breeders in business
