My new dragon, slight change of plan as some of you may know, i originally wanted a female beardie so i could get to grips with handling her and then start breeding, but when i went to the store the only female they had was being kept in the same enclosure as a male and was maybe pregnant!
So i decided not to take the chance, i know im not ready to breed yet.. so i took a male home with him and thats the story of how me and my new beardie became aquinted
I Have to admit im starting to worry about him already.. he hasnt hardly eaten or drank since i got him home yesterday.. i put a bowl of mealworms in his viv and he didnt touch them, he has a bowl of fresh greens which he climbed in but didnt eat and he has a bowl of water which he hasnt been near.
All he's eaten is a couple of worms and locusts ive actually held in front of him for him, he wont go near the bowls!
is this normal behaviour for a beardie in a new home?
A 60w spotlight at one end with a basking area underneath, this is where he keeps laying.. also a 100w reptiglow UVB strip light which runs the length of the viv.
His temps are 40-45c at the end of the viv with the spot to 25-30c at the cooler end, his water and food bowls are at the cool end and he has sheltered hiding spot at both ends.
Sorry temps are in celsius i dunno what they are in farenheit.
