We have Sinatra, named for Frank. He is supposed to be my lil crooner.Rango named after the movie
Shyla named after my goddaughter Nyla I just changed the beginning
Kioche (rehomed from here) but couldn’t pronounce her name and this was the closest to the name she already had
Ziggy (rehomed from here) the name that he already had
Legend (rehomed from Petsmart) original name was Milo and its sound moreso for a boy. But I felt she needed an identity from being a Petsmart animal
Lava (rehomed from Petsmart) original name was Pepper that they picked out of a bowl sounded unloved and cared about. When I saw him he reminded me of Lava but it was a close tie between Lava and Cayenne
**Fun Fact** they all have a 1st and middle name
Love that, especially to rename in those cases - also shows that now something new begins.Rango named after the movie

I noticed that in many languages any object or living creature can be turned into the same thing, only small and cute. To do this, just add a few letters to the end of the word. Taco - Taquito, Eidechse - Eidechslein. I tried to find such a rule for the English language, but I couldn't. I wonder if there is something similar in English? (usually to turn something into small and cute I use the adjective little, but this is not quite what is needed and only affects the size of someone or something)Love that, especially to rename in those cases - also shows that now something new begins.
My dragon is named "Taco", had no other name before, got him at 3 months old from a (good) reptile store.
Taco, as of: What is flat, hard, and comes in shades of brown? And as we're here in Chile, it just must be a Taco and not a pancakeAlso call him "Taquito", sometimes in German (as me and my husband are from Germany) "mein Eidechslein" for fun which means "my tiny lizard" ("Eidechse" itself are the small lizards, "-lein" makes it smaller) as it sounds funny contrasting with him begin really big

I think we rely on adjectives to accomplish it.Small, little, diminutive, tiny, itty, bitty, itty bitty, ect. We have tons of adjectives for just about anything.I noticed that in many languages any object or living creature can be turned into the same thing, only small and cute. Thats so cool! My beardie's name is Mirage! We named him this because when we first got him we would let him roam and we would look away for just a moment. Then, poof, he's gone. I honestly thought I was imagining him sometimes lol.Rango named after the movie

Both adjectives. Oh what a cute little beardie, or oh what a tiny little cutie pie, ect. We have a habitat of substituting words to. Interchangeably don't really matter as long as the context works. A beardie for sure isn't a pie in the previous example, but in that context everyone understands what is meant.Thank you! I also thought about using adjectives.
What is the usual adjective for something that is both small and cute? Little?
