Hey guys! I’m Edina and my beardie’s name is Mortdecai! I got him from the Maryland Reptile Expo about a month ago and since then we’ve bonded pretty well. Shortly after I got him he went through both a relocation (stress) phase and shedding phase where he didn’t eat much so I improvised a liquid mixture of water, squash baby food, green bean baby food, calcium, Herptivite, and Fluker's Repta+Boost that he absolutely loves. He’s now eating around 5 dubia roaches per day and still loves to eat the baby food mixture even though I have fresh daily veggies out for him (collard greens & squash). My only fear is that he’ll expect to be fed by syringe every day and not go for the solid veggies. What are the chances of this happening and did I dig myself into a hole?
P.S.: Glad I found a community to share advice, pics, and updates with!
Welcome to the forum! He's a cute little guy. I wouldn't lean to heavily on the syringe feeding unless he is ill. Keep offering lots of small live bugs for him to chase down and eat a couple of times each day.
