The mesh lets most of the light through but is fine enough that I don't have to worry about anything crawling in with him. I worry a little about him managing to get his nails caught in the mesh (because I worry about everything) but I'm not sure another material would be better for that without causing other issues. *edit* oh! And the top unzips, which should be obvious but I didn't realize and had to fish him out the front at the vets [/QUOTE]
