Information on getting a Leopard Gecko?

Hi,
I'm really considering getting one or two female Leopard Geckos soon, but I was wondering if anybody could give me a little bit of information on them?
I know they require "Under Tank Heaters", I think they're called, but all examples I have seen of these have been used in glass terrariums and are not recommended for wooden vivariums. If I were to get a gecko, I would only use a wooden vivarium as my boyfriend's dad would be able to make it for me and I would be able to place it neatly on top of my bearded dragons vivarium when we finally get it here (We have two beardies in one vivarium at my boyfriend's house but we're splitting them up and I will be taking one of them home with me soon.) Are there any other ways of getting something similar that would be suitable with a wooden vivarium? Also, how big should a vivarium be for gecko(s)?
Any other information would be absolutely wonderful. (E.g. diet, behaviour etc) I really want to know everything i can before I get one.

hi there !
For two, a twenty long would be more than enough! You'd need the uth, a ceramic heat element, black light tube and fixture, as well as a damp hide and dry hide. Calcium dish, water dish. That's pretty much it for necessities.
