My beardie just laid her first clutch of fertilized healthy eggs. We're more than ecstatic. She laid 21 eggs in which are in vermiculite and inside a hovabator. Everything has been going great.
Until this morning. My fiancé came home and our heat had been turned off. While it was about 40 f degrees in the house, the incubator which was previously registering 84-85, was now at 77. I'm really worried they won't make it now due to this drop in temp. I have no clue how long it was like that either considering we work 12 hour shifts.
Hi there....that drop won't be a problem at all. It can drop much lower than that and they'd still be fine....it's a spike in higher temps [ over 90 ] that can kill them, but this won't harm them in the least. I raised many clutches of babies and every once in a while there would be a malfunction of temps. over the years, it's no problem when it's a lower temp.
