Right now my terrarium is sporting a Reptiglo 10.0 UVB coil bulb, I've read enough in the forums to realize that these bulbs are not ideal for our dragons. I recently picked up a a zoo med compact top to house this bulb but I've now realized that I'm going to need a different type of bulb (apparently the Arcadia or the reptisun bulbs). I was wondering if the same light fixture will support this bulb.
You will need a T-8 or T-10 light fixture made for long linear fluorescent tube bulbs. The compact/coil lights do a lot of times negatively affect reptiles' eyes if put too close to them. However, for bearded dragons they are not strong enough to do them much good. You really need to get a fluorescent tube bulb, either the Reptisun 10 or the Arcadia D3 12% both are very good bulb.
