Hey everyone! I've been reading this site and the boards trying to figure out the best way to care for my surprise beardie. I've had him for about a month now and it's definitely been a learning process.
York was originally my daughter's beardie but she moved to CO and left him here with us. Since then I've been doing what I can to learn what he likes and doesn't like, what he'll eat and won't eat, etc. He was very picky about his greens when he first got here, but with some trial and error I've found the things that he prefers, and I've figured out how to get him to eat more of them as well as his fruits and veggies. It did take a week of depriving him of crickets though.
As far as I know he's about 2 years old. He's very friendly to both me and my husband, and our dogs and cats don't hardly phase him.
Thanks for the welcome! As for taking care of York, like I told her when I said I'd care for him, what's one more animal? We currently have 2 giant pibbles, 4 cats, and now a dragon.
It's funny though, because I spend more time caring for York than I do for the rest of the animals combined. Of course, that doesn't include the personal attention they all get. The rest eat dry kibble, and for him I have to cut up his greens, fruits, and veggies each day. Not to mention, I'm about to start growing Phoenix worms for him.
I'm all ready for that, I just have to wait for the worms to get here.
