If your beardie wakes up from brumation like mine did last week looking at you with hungry eyes can you feed them? I was afraid feed him and I dont have any fresh veggies on hand since hes been sleeping for about month straight. So he went back to bed. But if he wakes up again can I feed him butterworms?
Hi there,
No I dont think thatd brumation as I believe you have a young dragon?
Brumating is only something that adults over a year do. Younger dragons may show a drop in their activity but they wont usually fully brumate.
Don't worry about not eating... particularly if they are brumating (and you know they aren't sick). My bearded dragon hasn't eaten since September now and she is still sleeping. When she wakes up (when it is warm again) I will start offering food like usual and she knows when to eat.
Forgot to mention you only have to worry about them not eating if they get really thin. If the bones around the back of the tail start to show it can then be a worry.
