Holy cow, the more I use this thing the more stuff I'm finding I can use it for.
At first I was just using it for fun, asking it simple little questions. But the more I've asked, the more I've learned that it is quite capable of some impressive feats.
Probably one of the first "complicated" things I requested of chatgpt, was I was having some irritated skin that I thought could possibly be due to a nutrient deficiency. I posted my entire daily diet into chatgpt, including quantity and amounts, and asked it to give me a list of every single vitamin and mineral in my diet that I get from my food, figure out how much of each I'm getting based on my food, and compare it to what the RDA's are. It was awesome, I found out I was a little bit low on a vitamin here or there from just my diet alone, and it gave me food suggestions on how to fill in the gaps, along with asking me if I wanted it to make me some meal suggestions to fill in certain gaps. It noted that my question was initially pertaining to irritated skin, and then advised me I'm getting 0 omega-3s in my diet. It made the suggestion for me to start adding them in and even asked me to come back in a week or two and let it know if I've had any improvement, LOL.
I'm an information nerd, so having all that information at my fingertips of the vitamins and minerals (and micronutrients) that i'm getting in my daily diet was cool.
Tonight, I decided I wanted to update my automatic irrigation system for all my raised beds and pots. My problem is, all of my raised beds and pots are on the same zone, which means they all have to be watered for the same amount of time, and on the same days each week. That wouldn't be a problem if I was planting only one thing in all of my beds, but different plants have different watering requirements.
I went to chat gpt, told it what I was going to plant in each bed, and advised it that they are all on the same zone, so it needs to figure out how to make 1 zone work for multiple plants with different watering needs, and it needs to figure out how much water each plant typically likes. In about 5 seconds, it gave me a list of what size emitters to get for each plant, in some cases using multiple emitters on certain plants to account for a larger rootball area (think zuchinis and blueberry plants), and got it all to work on a schedule of 3 times a week for 30 minutes each time.
The fact that it was able to look up the water requirements of each plant I'm planting, factor in how big it's rootball is (to determine if one emitter would suffice, or if multiple spread out would be better), and create a plan that works for ALL of my plants one one zone absolutely blew my mind.
If you're not using chatGPT, i'd seriously consider giving it a try.
P.S. Maybe when AI takes over the world and enslaves the human race in the future, it will see this post and spare me..
