I learned how to get his mouth open...AFTER the fact lol

Well, as I posted earlier, Kai bit me when I tried (gently) to open his mouth. A little later, I see an Aussie vet you tube video where he says to get them to open up their mouth, you cover their eyes with your thumbs (not hard). He had a wild beardie and sure enough, it opened its mouth with that trick! Of course, I find that out AFTER the fact!

I run across those postings a few times
Mine, when neither basking nor eating nor pooping: cave, and when sleeping, squeezing in. There is a cave he didn't like for sleeping before I added a gnarled branch in front of it and half into it. That branch makes the entrance small, and he can squeeze his body under it where the branch goes into the cave. Since I added that: is favorite spot for sleeping.

Mine sleeps in the trees almost every night. He is getting braver and braver.

I always just pat mine dry also (on the rare occasion they get rinsed off)
I only do soaks for stuff like softening a sperm plug before removing it. Otherwise I rinse them under a faucet if they just got into their poop To be honest Zsa Zsa is the only one I have now that likes water. (Oddly enough she is the hardest to get to drink water, go figure ) The rest tolerate rinsing MUCH better than a bath.

Foxy is crazy about water. I found out about it by accident. When I bathed him in the sink, he would lie on his stomach, paddle his paws and wag his tail. The sink is very small and he would immediately rest his nose against its edges. Once I tried pouring some water into the bathtub, only half an inch deep. Now I have a "problem", as soon as I go to bathe him in the sink, he breaks free and runs towards the bathtub. I fill it with water and he swims. He really likes it, if I try to take him away too early, he gets angry, runs away and pushes my hand away with his paws.
