Haha what they said almost made me laugh.. So if by their logic beardies can’t see “red”, then they wouldn’t even see the light coming from those infrared bulbs. The whole purpose of basking bulbs is to simulate the heat and light coming from the sun. If your beardie can’t see the light they can get really confused. So it doesn’t even make sense. Also it’s just a huge misconception that they can’t see the color red. Even if it’s not in the human sense of “red”, they do have great color vision. I believe The specific term to describe that is “tetrachromatic”, which means beardies have 4 color receptors (humans have 3). That also helps them sense UV lights. I have absolutely no idea why the breeder even tried to stop you from getting your own basking bulb. You can probably throw their sheet away or If you’re unsure about anything else on it just ask in this thread. That was a lengthy reply! Mostly kinda angry at the irresponsible breeder. But just to share a fun anecdote about red and beardies, I just gave red bell pepper to Draco today, mixed the pieces up with romaine lettuce. And he patiently picked out all of the greens and left me half a plate of red bell pepper! He did it without hesitation too. They definitely see what’s going on.
