Why is the aim of beardies so bad? At times it takes 3 or tries to get their food.

Do you have led lighting in your enclosure? I noticed Kais aim and accuracy improved a lot when I added the jungle dawn led!

Mine also aims very precisely (so much that I admire him for that), rarely misses and usually only when exactly then a bug falls down (hand-feeding, or escaped bug climbs and slips).

(I do not have a jungle dawn LED, as not available here, but it's generally quite bright here.)

Actually I think any led bulb will do, as long as its 6500k. I thought it was bright before but the difference inside his tank was quite amazing. Then again, your tank is right in front of full-sunlight windows, correct? So it probably has the same effect.

No but this happened in and out of the enclosure. If something is in my hand, they get it on the first try about 90% of the time.

That's what I meant, yes.
(I'm not using any LED right now; I just have bought a normal household LED as a backup as sometimes reptile supplies are very hard to get and my emergency backup for a basking lamp would be heat emitter plus LED, which I know is not the proper way to do that, but if he would be left without tank lights otherwise....)

Licky does this so often, on his daily cruises around the town (bedroom, living room, kitchen, and hallways), he always inevitably runs straight into multiple doors, storage containers, walls... you name it. I heard from another owner that bearded dragons have terrible depth perception and they can't gauge the depth of their snout from the stuff in front of them particularly well which makes sense, Licky always seems so surprised when he's suddenly stopped by his nose impacting a flat vertical surface haha

Yup. Mine usually look right at me like it is somehow my fault lol.
