I play the TV for my beardies all day. Rocky is in a position where he won't be able to see the TV. He could if he would move, but Ruby is all about the TV.

I have shut the TV off now that they are semi brumating but I have wondered aboutthe following:
- Am I the only one who does this?
-I've turned my tvs into display tvs like at the store because they don't get daily watch from me
- How much electricity iswasted daily lol

2 tvs for 2 beardies.

While the TV is off, I'm thinking about soft music. Should I do it?

If I'm home and they hear my voice they are fine. If I sneak out the house for 8 to 10 hours, in semi brumation they are fine. If I leave for a day, Rocky comes out to bask like HEYYYYYY what's the deal? But then he resumes brumating.

Is it that they have to know I'm here? Smell me... anything?

Other people and noise in the house doesn't phase them, it's the mother's love that matters most!#bragging

Zen loved to watch tv, Snickers would watch it more than not. My other guys would look if something flashy was going on but didn't pay much attention otherwise. They both seemed more interested in it if the sound was on also.
They were both in the room with the pc so I would leave those 6 to 8 hours videos of nature playing for them they seemed to watch that also.
I think anything that can catch there attention even if it's just for a little bit is enrichment for them.
As far as electricity wasted, I think todays electronics have come so far that it's probably not all that much. 🙂

Hello,

I have always put on music, etc for our dragons to listen to if we aren't around. They seem to be
able to sense when we are there or aren't. Perhaps it's the vibrations of movement they can feel,
I'm not sure.
At any rate, I'm sure your dragons appreciate it!

i don't turn anything on, but taela the parakeet is definitely intune to what brother sir henry is up to. when henry's lights turn off, taela comes out and flies around the room in a "round up" of the flock. during the day, they both have free roam time in the office. henry will come and sit outside under taela's "outside perch" and they just watch each other.

taela seems to amuse himself mostly with thinking the birds outside are talking to him directly. we live on a river so we get jays, kingfishers, cormorants, eagles, ospreys, herons, and a ton of canadian geese! they all talking to him and he responds!

then, of course, when we humans are home, they pay somewhat attention to us LOL

I've spent some time roaming around the area where you live. There is indeed quite a diversity of wildlife there, it's one of my favorite areas in that whole region. The rock hounding is pretty amazing there too.
I'm jealous as I'm writing this.... I see pigeons and the occasional stray cat lol.
The only downside I ever found to that whole coastal area was it seemed to friggen rain ALOT!!!!

My dragon loves looking out of the window. We have a lot of shore birds, and first he was afraid of them, but he no longer is. (Still, of course, I won't take him outdoors including on the balcony without harness and leash!)

Music is only playing for an hour - or how long an old-fashioned CD lasts - during evenings, and we don't have a TV (we sometimes, but rarely, watch something like a movie or documentary on the computer, but that's in another room where he is not during (late) evening). As that's generally a very quiet household, so we don't mimic "there is something" when we aren't at home as I think he would see this as especially unusual. Checking in with a camera, Taco is not behaving odd when we are not at home.

When I was a teenager, I had a parakeet - was doing just the same :) (On the countryside, parents have a large garden with lots of old trees, natural hedges, a naturalistic pond, natural and there are a lot of birds around.)

Ruby definitely appreciates the noise. He's facing the wall like his brother but he's not in his hide. He's fully alert. I try to resist saying hi to him 9k times a day.

I put music on low at the floor of the enclosure and came back 30 minutes later (or was it 10) and his beard was glowing. Either he understood the music or he was simply happy 😊 ❤️

The TV (PC in my case) does only get kind of a side eye. Not sure if they like it or not but they recognise and react to it. When I take Luis out and put him to the screen he just turns around and climbs to my shoulder as if the screen would not exist though....
They for sure realize if we or other people are home or not. The last time I had other people watch Luis, while I was on vacation, he was mostly hiding and barely eating until I got home.

Foxy behaved identically. When we left, we asked our father-in-law to feed him. He put fresh greens every day, but Foxy did not touch anything until we returned and fed him.

The music ended 10 minutes before Ruby's light went off. He head was down and eyes closed. Of course I asked him what was doing in a soft tone.
He lifted his head and began glowing like when I catch my father napping yet he denies it.

Coming back to this....I really thought that I was special and that Rocky loved me. Now Ruby, I wouldn't expect it in a million years but Rocky....man o man.

I might have to test this theory.

But I guess he still picked meeeee. And he got on top of me, he didn't try to hide by me. I I'm sounding desperate for Rockys love lol

I'm gonna ask him.

Ruby will eventually mellow out some too, when he does I bet he becomes a snuggle bug too.
They really do pick who they love. Our dragons have always shown preference between Christina and I. And it changes sometimes also. Snickers was my girl to the core from the very beginning but about 2 or 3 months before we lost her, she was all about Christina. Zen was terrified of me at first but he ended up being my creature and just tolerated Christina (he was her pet not mine, but he chose me).

Ruby just came out looking for Dora. I played Dora and he's happy.

He faced the TV and was like helloooooooo.

As soon as I cut on the TV, he went to her favorite climbing thing which he is too big for and it's enjoying his day.

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hey! We’re the same age! That’s cool!
Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
