I FINALLY got my little buddy! Caramon

So, as the title says, I finally got my bearded dragon. His name is Caramon. (A character from one of my favorite book series - DragonLance. I thought it was appropriate. )

He is a rescue. The person who had him before could no longer take care of him, so I agreed to take him on. He’s 3 years old, and he seems to be taking to his no home nicely. He’s looked around a bit and is currently lounging in the basking area with his eyes closed even though the light is now off (night time). (Probably because it is still warm and he’s trying to get comfortable and relax.)

I already love him!

I will be scheduling a vet appointment tomorrow to have him checked out, but so far he seems pretty healthy and alert. (It just so happens that the founder of the vet clinic that I’ve taken my previous animals - a dog & 2 cats - is a reptile specialist, and I love that vet clinic. So it’s nice that I don’t have to search for a new vet clinic to go to.)

I can’t wait for him to get adjusted to his new digs and I can start bonding with him.

CONGRATZZZZZZZ on getting your new buddy!!!! He looks like a sweetheart . Keep up up to date on how the bobding process goes and with new pics. Beardies are the best pets ever, your in for a treat!!! It's phenomenal that you have a vet already to. If only the rest of us were so lucky lol

Really beautiful guy and he looks a lot like my Taco
Have a lot of fun together! I think an adult dragon already used to humans in general is a good choice for a first beardie (I got mine as a baby. Also interesting to watch him growing up, but of course we had to wait for many things until he was a bit older.)

By the way: My Taco also sometimes sleeps at the basking area, usually when a very warm and sunny day is anticipated - so he warms up much faster and has more time to explore. I would guess your Caramon is also doing that. New environment, he wants to explore and plans ahead for a day where he wants to get up early. Not joking, such animals can plan ahead and it also makes much sense that he will check out his new environment.
